Searching for the perfect sound pushes our engineers on and on. The 64 Bit audio DSP and throughout sophisticated signal processing with 96 kHz sampling rate and native 32 Bit resolution as well as the new separated AD and DA signal converters from Asahi Kasei provide outstanding sound quality. Ideal for the processing of High-Res audio signals with an audio bandwidth of more than 40 kHz. This professional and yet very user-friendly software is used to easily configure Audiotec-Fischer DSP products. ACO – Advanced 32 Bit platform
Logically the DSP.3 is now equipped with the new, extraordinary powerful 32 Bit ACO (Advanced CoProcessor) platform. This takes over all monitoring tasks and provides a decisive speed increase particularly in data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software, but also when switching between different sound setups in only 300 msec. In addition, the ACO offers 10 internal memory locations for sound setups instead of the usual two as well as an integrated, channel-separated Input EQ and our Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of input signals. By doing so it is possible to de-equalize any ex-factory sound tunings which significantly simplifies the integration of several signal sources.
Extensive basic feature set
Of course, the highlevel input with ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation), the Auto Remote switch, an optical input as well as the HELIX Extension Card slot (HEC slot) for system add-ons like Bluetooth® Audio Streaming or High Resolution Audio Streaming via USB are part of the basic feature set.

Special features:96 kHz sampling rate
The HELIX DSP.3 allows to handle all signals with the doubled sampling rate of 96 kHz. Thus the audio bandwidth is no longer limited to usual values like 22 kHz but allows an extended frequency response to more than 40 kHz. Doubling the sampling rate requires significantly higher DSP power as the number of possible arithmetic operations is halved.
Only the implementation of the latest DSP chip generation allows raising the sampling rate to 96 kHz and adding new features at the same time.ACO - Advanced 32 Bit CoProcessor
The HELIX DSP.3 incorporates an extraordinary powerful 32 Bit CoProcessor of the latest generation for all monitoring and communication tasks,
both internally and externally. In opposite to the 8 Bit predecessor generation this MCU achieves way higher speeds with respect to setup switching and data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software.
A further significant advantage is the integrated, native boot loader of the CoProcessor. It allows software upgrades of all components of the DSP in order to adjust the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit for example at future modifications / changes in the diagnostic system of factory radios or if the device will be extended with additional interfaces.
In addition, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers 10 memory locations for sound setups instead of the common two.Smart highlevel input ADEP.3
Modern, factory-installed car radios incorporate sophisticated possibilities of diagnosing the connected speakers. In particular the latest generation of car radios are equipped with additional monitoring functions so that failure messages and loss of specific features (e.g. fader function) quite often appear if a signal processor will be hooked up – but not with the DSP.3.
The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation) avoids all these problems without loading the speaker outputs of the OE radio during high volumes unnecessarily.Start-Stop capability
The switched power supply of the HELIX DSP.3 assures a constant internal supply voltage even if the battery’s voltage drops to 6 Volts during engine crank.Power Save Mode
The Power Save Mode is incorporated in the basic setup. It allows to significantly reduce the power consumption of the amplifiers that are connected to the HELIX DSP.3 once there’s no input signal present for more than 60 seconds. Please note that in many up-to-date cars with “CAN” or any other internal bus structures it may happen that the radio remains “invisibly” turned on for up to 45 min. even after locking and leaving the car! Once the “Power Save Mode“ is active the remote output and therefore the connected amplifiers will be turned off. The HELIX DSP.3 will reactivate the remote output within a second if a music signal is applied. It is possible to either modify the turn-off time of 60 sec. or completely deactivate the “Power Save Mode” via the DSP PC-Tool software.Automatic Digital Signal Detection
Switching from analog input to the digital input is done automatically as soon as a signal is detected on the Optical Input. This feature can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software. Alternatively you can use an optional remote control for manual switching between analog and digital inputs.

TwinDSP Power
Computing power can only be replaced by even more computing power – and that’s why the DSP ULTRA is equipped with two of the most powerful 64 Bit audio signal processors from Analog Devices. Incredible 2.4 billion MAC operations per second make the twelve separately processed channels and the multitude of new sound features in combination with the high sampling rate of 96 kHz (resulting in an audio bandwidth of over 40 kHz) possible.
ACO – Advanced 32 Bit platform
Rapid processing power not only in the signal path – the particularly fast 32 Bit ACO platform takes over all control tasks and ensures the decisive speed increase, especially for data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software, but also for the lightning-fast switching between up to ten possible sound setups. But ACO offers much more – fantastic sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing or StageXpander are implemented as well as a channel-separated Input EQ including Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of input signals of OE radios, which already include a sound setup ex works.
Even further improved audio performance
The HELIX DSP ULRA justifies its name not only in terms of functionality, but also with respect to sound quality. An extremely complex and newly designed analog input stage ensures phenomenal sound characteristics with full high-res audio bandwidth up to more than 40 kHz. But that’s not all – tremendous effort was put into filtering out any unwanted interference in the power supply of the individual stages. In addition, only particularly low-noise operational amplifiers from TI / BurrBrown’s legendary “OPA series” are now used.
Virtual Channel Processing – a new era of signal routing begins
The adaptation to modern OE sound systems via an increasing number of inputs has a significant impact on the complexity of the signal routing inside the processor. Especially when several input signals are mixed together and then split again into multi-way systems, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits, both in terms of implementation and usability. Audiotec Fischer’s new, multi-stage “Virtual Channel Processing”, in conjunction with the recognized user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software, makes it easy to realize even highly complex system configurations. Besides that it allows to freely assign our proprietary FX sound features such as “RealCenter” or “StageEQ”.

The simple adaptation to existing factory radios or multi-channel OE sound systems is more important than ever before – and that’s why the DSP ULTRA is not only equipped with the latest generation ADEP.3 circuit, but also offers a particularly large adjustment range for the input sensitivity. The enormous range of 1 – 8 Volts (RCA) or 4 – 32 Volts (highlevel) allows the combination with almost any imaginable analog signal source, even with high-power OE amplifiers.
